Absoluetly brilliant!,

I bought this for an unusual purpose and it was a gamble but it has worked brilliantly. I wanted to use it with my disabled daughter, who can only communicate via typing but who cannot manage a keyboard or mouse.
With a laptop on the table, at a comfortable viewing distance, and the touch screen put in a good position near her, she has been able to use a computer in a way never possible before. With some special software (from Sensory Software) she has been able to move from communication screens (with speech output so she can 'talk',) to email, to listening to music, to watching TV programmes she missed etc and with the touch screen, she can do it herself.
The touch screen is sensitive, the picture really clear, it weighs much much less than all the others I researched and the angle of the screen can be adjusted to wherever you want it. It's great!

Great little item !,

Excellent item, the screen is actually quite large. Setup is fairly straightforward, calibration can be a bit tricky - make sure it's set as the main monitor otherwise the calibrator won't launch on the correct screen. And use the enclosed stylus rather than a finger for this as it's more accurate.
Am using this as a controller for a media PC, is now working perfectly, be aware though that it won't work with DirectX under Windows XP - took me a while to figure this out. The manual says it's not compatible but it does work fine with DX under Windows 7.

Compact and does the job,
8 Nov 2011 This review is from: Lilliput UM1010T 10" USB Monitor USB-powered mini Touch Screen Monitor (Electronics)
I was looking for a touch screen to use with some PC based theatre lighting control software. This screen looked to be a good balance between size and price, and based on the few reviews left looked to be suitable so I got one. It arrived two days after ordering. Delivery company did leave it with a neighbour and put a note through the door, so very minor niggle there, but that is delivery company, not the product.
Initial impressions were it was well packaged and had all the required parts - the screen with stand already attached, (optional) external power supply, USB cable, driver CD and small plastic "pen".
It was easy enough to open out the stand and get the screen set-up on the desk.
The screen has three power buttons on the front for power and brightness increase/decrease. There is a standard USB connector on the side (for, I assume, pen drives, etc), though I've not tried this. On the rear is a mini-USB connector (to connect to the PC) and socket for the (optional) external power supply. This is a 10.1" screen - the same size as Netbooks - so is not going to be suitable for watching the latest blockbuster films or gaming, but since it's primary purpose is as a touch screen add-on for a PC I do not consider that to be an issue.
Instructions - typical 21st century "Chinese English" - not going to win awards with the Plain English campaign, but do the job and tell you what to do.
The USB cable has TWO connectors for the PC end to ensure the device gets enough power, so you need to ensure you have two free USB ports adjacent to each other on your computer. If not, you'll either need to buy a USB extension cable so you can connect the second plug to another socket or use the optional external power supply that will obviously need an additional 13Amp socket (it won't work if you try and connect it to two sockets on something like a USB hub unless that has its own power supply and you may not get the performance from the device if you do that either - it needs direct connection to the PC).
Per the instructions, I connected the device first and then inserted the driver CD. I have Windows Vista on my laptop, which did it's usual trick of trying to automatically install the required drivers, so I gave that a go. Windows did manage to find appropriate Display Link drivers on Windows Update and recognised the device as touch responsive, though when I tried these it seemed to just be acting like a touch pad, in that touching the screen just move the pointer on the main laptop screen and not the external screen. I therefore followed the instructions to install both the supplied USB/Display Link drivers and the touch screen drivers. I noted there were drivers for various versions of Windows, Mac and Linux on the CD, though I can't vouch for the Mac and Linux drivers as I don't have ready access to machines with these on. Following the installation and reboot, I used the driver configuration utility to tell it where the monitor was in relation to the main screen of the laptop and also had to update the configuration of the touch screen software as to which screen was the touch screen, though this was straight forward from the on-screen instructions (you just press space bar till you get to the correct screen).
Calibrating the screen wasn't really necessary as it seemed to be pretty accurate out of the box, but I recalibrated anyway to make sure. This just requires you to press the "pen" against 4 points on the screen, though you can optionally calibrate with more points on the screen if that is not sufficiently accurate. There is an additional utility to test the calibration by allowing you to draw lines on the screen.
As another reviewer indicated, there is nowhere to store the plastic pen, so need to be careful where you keep that. Depending on what you are using the touch screen for and based on its size, you may need to keep this handy, just in case you have a "heavy touch" and don't get the accuracy you need :o)
Overall the device is well made, easy to set-up and does the job, so I would recommend it.
