Having used other Toshiba Stor.e products and many other hard drives I can confirm this is a cut above the rest. The fanless, USB 3.0 powered steel HDD screams quality, bundled with a leather case and a silk cloth straight out of the box. One complaint is that it looks so good when clean you find yourself wiping it free of fingerprints for hours! If you're a neat freak, go for a brushed metal drive like the sort from Iomega. The USB adapter has an unfortunately uncommon connection, which would be worrying were you to lose the lead that it comes with, but it does a good job of powering the drive straight from the device without additional USB socket assistance that some drives require. "500GB" in this case translated to 464GB, which is only insignificant when compared to the size of the drive and would be sorely missed of something like an iPod! On other drives 500GB translated to 489GB.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase and can recommend it
