Good Ultra compact & cool - Everybody who has seen it has commented!
Fast - 1GB of RAM seems to be perfectly OK - Copes well with the programs you would realistically want to run. Mega quick start up & shut down.
Keyboard - perfectly OK with keys are obviously small but I only type with two fingers so it doesn't really bother me
Battery life - I regularly get 6 hrs+ on a full charge
Forums - There is an incredible amount of info on every conceivable question you may have about EeePcs on the web - They seem to have a cult following
Bad No CD/DVD drive - If you haven't got an external one it's a real pain to restore without it (you have to create a windows bootable flash drive from the restore disk - not as easy as it sounds!)
Bloatware - for a PC with only 12GB of storage there is a lot of rubbish - it takes about 1hr to remove all the unnecessary programs that you don't really need.
Speaker Hiss - There was really annoying crackle (not a hardware issue) with my 901 - to fix this you have to update the Bios to 1001 from the ASUS website (thanks forums)
Small C drive - As this drive is only 4gb you have to be careful otherwise it gets full & causes problems - Make sure that any programs you install are installed on the D Drive otherwise you might be sorry. Once you've installed all the updates for windows your C drive will be nearly full. You find yourself using CCleaner nearly every day.
Overall these small negatives just give the EeePc more character & I would give it an overall 4.5 stars.

I bought the EeePC901 mainy to pick up emails and Skype when I am travelling. I got sick and tired of lugging round a regular lap top and fiddly keyboards on mobile phones and PDAs are a pain. The Eee boots up in 30 seconds even with XP and the WiFi works well. I find the keyboard is excellent despite its size and the screen is clear and easy to read. Battery life when browsing the internet is pretty poor at 90 minutes, fortunately the charger is nice and compact.
The only niggle I have is the C drive is only 4G which is instantly full so if you do add other programs put them on the 8G D drive or add a removable drive at

Having used this phone for about a week I feel like I can throw in my 2p worth. I bought this from Expansys since Amazon did not have this phone in stock during launch. My impression so far has been very positive and I am not regretting being an early adopter (at least not yet) at all!
Positives: - Sleek form factor and ease of use. You can easily use this one handed for most tasks even if you have average sized hands. I also like the geeky `industrial design' but that is a matter of personal taste. This phone exudes class when held in the hand or laid on a desk. - Fast & Smooth operation thanks to being very lightly skinned by Motorola (good call on that one!). Ah, the joys of an almost pure Android experience! Scrolling between home pages, opening the app drawer, launching the dialler, phone book, text messaging, launching the camera etc is handled quickly and effortlessly. The circles widget is a very useful thing indeed and I also like the implementation of the lock screen. - Apps work really well on the phone and I have not come across any I could not install from the 40+ I downloaded from the play store. Apps like Flipboard, Evernote, PlayerPro, Dropbox, Whatsapp, Pocket, Ocado, etc work flawlessly and demanding games (I tried Osmos HD, Dead Space & Dead Trigger) run without any hiccups. Multitasking is also handled with ease and running multiple apps in the background does not slow the phone down much. - Web browsing with the Chrome browser is perhaps the best I have experienced on a smartphone so far with super fast page loads, text & graphics rendering, page scrolling and tab switching. Pinch zooming and tap-to-zoom is flawless and integration with the Chrome desktop browser is a joy! All my bookmarks are synced between my phone and laptop and I can also see what tabs I have open on my laptop. Brilliant. - Battery Life is great. I charge my phone fully before going to bed and it easily lasts me 24 hours (if not longer) with higher than average use. With heavy to intense use I would say a full day's use (morning till night) is quite manageable. That is above average for a modern day smartphone. - Music quality is comparable to its rivals. It won't impress audiophiles (but neither will any other smartphone) but it is acceptable for a mobile phone. The volume level is a little on the lower side compared to an iPhone but you will rarely feel the need to max out (about 70% volume level is plenty loud on this). I used this with my Klipsch S4 & Sennheiser IE6 earphones and the sound was pretty decent. So even though this does not have the crisp highs, well defined lows and balanced sound of my dedicated music player (Creative Zen Vision M) it is on par with modern smartphones. - Video playback is brilliant even via the stock player. But be sure to download MX player and it's Codec pack for x86 CPUs to make the most of viewing videos on the phone. Videos load up instantaneously, seeking through them is super quick and all types of file formats and resolutions are handled with aplomb! The Youtube app works like a charm. And yes, both the MX player and the Youtube app hide the soft keys for full screen viewing while playing videos :) - Emailing is quick and painless using both the stock email app or Gmail. Just enter your email ID and passowrd and you're set. I have not used exchange server so can't comment on that. - Expandable memory. Can't believe I'm listing this as a plus but the recent (disturbing) trend of manufacturers leaving out this valuable feature probably has something to do with it ;) I've used it with my 32 gig card with no issues. - LED indicator! Now why doesn't every phone have one?? So useful, especially if you make the most of it by using an app like Light Flow LED Control and have different colours for different events (Calls, Texts, Facebook, etc). - GPS lock is fast! It even gives me a lock indoors (albeit taking more time in doing so). Plus Google Maps loads really quickly and you can now even download a certain area of the map for offline use. I can see this being a very useful navigation device. - Has NFC so is future proof (apart from not having LTE capability as mentioned in the negatives below). - Finally, this is really good at being a telephone in case you ever feel like using it as such ;) Call quality is excellent, it keeps good signal strength and connects calls in an instant (almost caught me off guard a couple of times by how quickly it did that!). Even with the poor O2 network (I am on giffgaff) it has not given me any problems so far.
Negatives: - While the screen is good when it comes to brightness and colour reproduction the low resolution (and PenTile pixel arrangement) becomes apparent while reading text on the device as you can notice the jagged edges every so often. Also, my phone's screen (at least) has a yellowy tinge to its whites especially when compared side by side... Read more

Bought for my mother - Very well built, feels like a quality product, call quality great, ergonomics great - all of is great! The dedicated camera button is a real bonus - it's indented but it will unlock the phone (if you haven't put a pin on it) and take you straight to the camera. Also functions as a dedicated shutter button too. Only minor let down is the photo quality of indoor shots but that's a usual issue with phone camera and I am comparing with the galaxy s3 - would ideally knock half a star off for this but amazon doesn't let me. In good light as with most phone cams will give good results.

I would never normally look to purchase a Motorola phone based on a the usability of a former product. However, I was drawn to looking into the Motorola Razr i by its claims about durability. Being in a job that has caused a few of my past handsets to meet their demise, this appealed to me. Firstly the pictures do not do this phone justice. In the flesh its durability is apparent along with the quality of the materials used in its production. Its no Apple device by any means, but it is well made with quality materials that set it apart from the likes of Samsung and their plethora of plastic clad handsets. To hold in the hand it has a reassuring weight without being too heavy and as already mentioned the materials used add a feel of quality to the product. If I was to have any criticism over its construction it would be that dust has a way of finding the small (and it is small) gap between the frame of the phone and the screen.
Whilst I have mentioned the screen it is worth noting that it is not on a par with the iPhone of Galaxy S3. Its is a lower resolution and is of 'pen tile' type. This means that there is some slight pixellation. However, the screen is clear and bright and by no means the worst out there. Its edge to edge coverage is also impressive with minimal bezel. The Intel processor means that the phone is quick and smooth in operation. Some have questioned the use of a single core processor in these days of the quad core boards, but, they forget to mention that the Intel processor supports hyper threading, just like when its implemented in PC use. This results in fast performance but with better battery performance.
In short if you're looking for durable, fast and professional looking phone this could well be for you.

Firstly, MobiCity have to be praised for their lightning-fast delivery - I chose the cheapest delivery option and the tablet arrived less than 24 hours after placing the order. Unboxing the unit is slightly less impressive though, there is no branded packaging at all, the unit is shipped in a poly bag, in half a jiffy bag, inside a plain cardboard box. Loose in the box I found a standard USB-A to micro USB cable, a short USB-A socket to micro USB plug cable (not entirely sure what you'd use that for...) and a 5V/2A UK mains charging plug with a tiny DC jack. There is also a very brief instruction booklet, in English and Mandarin, which, being a man, I obviously haven't read...
The unit itself is also entirely unbranded, (which is a plus as far as I'm concerned - teenagers might assume something labelled 'KiDiGi' is aimed at very young children). Having done a bit of research, I believe it is a MaPan or a MaiPad, made by MaiXin-China, who usefully have a download section on their website if you need to upgrade software at any time. This means that it has an Allwinner A13 CPU, which probably isn't running at 1.5GHz - more likely at 1.0 or 1.2GHz for better stability. I'll confirm this at some stage and report back... The tablet has no labelling for any of the controls or sockets, other than the SD socket - make sure you don't stuff the DC jack into the earphone socket by mistake. Unlike the unit reviewed by Engadget, this one has a black back cover to match the black screen surround. Overall build quality seems pretty good for such a cheap tablet, certainly better than I was expecting given the price.
Firing up the unit presents you with a fairly standard home screen, plus all the options which should be familiar to anyone who's used an Android smart phone. At this price, many people are still trying to sell tablets with 2.2/Froyo loaded on them, so having 4.04 is big plus. The display looked a little dim, it's set to around 50% brightness out of the box, but that can adjusted in the settings. The display clearly isn't going to rival Apple's retina display, but it is good enough for its target market - web browsing, games and as a media player. Having set up WiFi and registered a Gmail account, I checked email, and logged onto the pre-installed Google Play app store. Once I'd downloaded the YouTube app, I streamed the 'Skyfall' trailer - even in high quality the speed was good (I was worried it would be permanently buffering), the picture fine, and sound quality excellent through headphones. The inbuilt speaker is a bit weedy, emergency use only I guess. I then downloaded Angry Birds spin-off 'Bad Piggies' which installed and played without a hitch. I checked out the front facing camera, and it's while it's just about ok for Skype, at 0.3Mp you wouldn't want to use it for much more than that.
That's as far as I've got so far, and overall, I'm impressed, and seriously considering buying at least one more. I considered docking a star for the low rent packaging, but then it is less than

This review is from: HTC TITAN Sim Free Windows 7.5 Smartphone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I was lucky enough to walk into my highstreet and grab a HTC TITAN over the first weekend of October (seemingly a good 2 weeks before launch elsewhere) and I've been so impressed that I thought I'd upload a review, that will hopefully fill in the blanks for you if you're looking to purchase this phone:
First impressions: The TITAN, living up to its name, is big. To put it into perspective, if you are upgrading from a previous 4.3 inch phone, you might not notice the extra size as the bevel is much smaller on this phone than on similar 4.3 inch models, to the point where the dimensions wouldn't be much bigger. If, on the other hand, you are upgrading from a 3.5 inch or similar model, you'll notice a substantial increase on the face, that might take a while to get accustomed to. Whilst that might be said, it's also worth noting that the phone is stated as 9.9mm thin, but this is at its maximum, in reality I measure it closer to 9.6, making it on par with the iPhone 4, but not quite the same level as the Samsung GS2. It's worth noting that although the handset is very large, due to the thinness, and the ratio due to the phone being a bit wider, it sits really well in the hand.
Is it pocket friendly?: This is a double edged sword. I'm a regular guy with a 32 inch waist that wears normal (practical) jeans, cargos and the occasional leopard-skin leotard and I have to say that I haven't found a pocket this phone wouldn't fit into. And that's not to say that it `just' fits. In fact, it always has room to spare, so do not fear if you sound similar to me there. If you're keen on skinny jeans, I doubt you'll fit this phone in your front pockets, rather stick it in your handbag (because if you wear skinny jeans you OBVIOUSLY have a handbag to go with it ;
Build quality: Two pieces, both solid. The phone unit is actually cradled inside the aluminium chassis, which is released with a solid feeling button at the bottom of the handset. It's incredibly well built, and the removable battery is always a plus. Make note however, that this phone does not support expandable memory, and thus you are left with the 16GB in-built flash only. Swapping the SIM on the go is pretty difficult due to the fact that it needs to be inserted before the battery goes in, effectively locking it in place. Looking at it, you can 'modify' it to allow anytime SIM removal with judicious use of a nail file, but that'd be at your own risk, and I'm not sure it'd work!
Screen quality: This is my first experience with `S-LCD' also known as SUPER-LCD to some. I come from an iPhone 4 background, as well as having briefly dabbled with the GS2, just so you know where I stand, comparatively speaking. The screen on the TITAN is leaps and bounds ahead of the iPhone, with richer colours, deeper blacks and ever-so-slightly better viewing angles. Whilst the resolution is higher on the iPhone, the Titan doesn't display any form of aliasing (jagged edges) and appears incredibly sharp throughout, especially when viewing photos. Between the TITAN and the GS2, it's a much closer call, and I'd have to go with the GS2 as having the edge. Although, to put it into perspective: The only way you'd ever be able to tell one is better than the other is to have the two side-by-side constantly, which, let's face it, is never going to happen. The TITAN has an incredible screen, and it's a joy to use.
Speaker: Not so great, fairly quiet even at max volume, so not great for music or phone calls, but it does have slightly deeper bass than the `tinny' sounds of other phones. In any case, headphones are the way to go for this one.
Camera: 8MP, twin LED flash, 720p video, advanced ISO/editing/panorama/burst options...sounds good. Oh, and an f/2.2 lens. I'm a photographer, so I knew this was marketing babble from the get go, and don't be fooled, this isn't going to replace your compact any day soon, but in daylight it actually does a fantastic job. I know I started off negative, but I just don't like it when claims are made that don't live up to their expectations, and so far this TITAN has exceeded every claim made by HTC (except maybe their slogan: The best thing you've ever held. Which is subjective, at best) So basically, the shots are grainy at night, but in daylight are great, perfect for web uploading and small prints. HD video is nice, quite good quality and upscales fairly well. At the end of the day, camera technology isn't perfect in smartphones, there are too many compromises, but HTC does a great job at mitigating those issues and delivering a package that makes a decent walkabout companion.
Battery life: On par with iPhone 4, GS2 and such. It'll give you a days worth with moderate use, no problem, but still the kind of phone you'll want to charge overnight.
Internet: The TITAN supports HSPDA+ (a better version of 3G) which allows for around... Read more

I have had this phone for two weeks now, and in that time I've been bowled over by it's speed, stability and all round performance. Previously I had an iPhone and I can honestly say I don't miss it at all.
I feel Microsoft have done a great job with the OS, it's very intuitive to use and looks fantastic, and actually makes both iOS and Android look extremely dated. The app situation isn't quite as bleak as some say, in fact there are some excellent free ones available, and I've found decent equivalents to all my iPhone apps.
I've read several reviews on this phone and they keep mentioning the 'low' screen resolution - this really is a non-issue, the display is outstanding, and colours are nice and vibrant too. It's great for showing your photos (incidentally albums are synched with Facebook which is another positive about WP7).
Internet browsing on this phone is a superb experience, the IE9 browser works nicely and is very quick on a 3G or wireless connection. It doesn't support Flash though which is a bit of a shame.
As far as I'm concerned the only downside compared to the Apple is that the WP7 music player doesn't support gapless playback, but in the scheme of things this isn't a major issue. The sound quality is excellent.
All in all an excellent phone. I have no regrets. It's more unique than an iPhone (or a boring Android phone), and I know it's subjective, but I think it's better.

I recently changed to HTC phones as I wanted a good smartphone brand, and everyone seemed to recommend HTC. SO I bought a HTC Wildfire a few years ago. This phone was good, but texting on the phone was a nightmare for me because of my mars bar fingers - I always hit two or more buttons or sent the thing without it actually being finished. So I went on the hunt for a better HTC model, and found this one. I decided to part pretty reluctantly with my hard-earned dosh and took the plunge.
All in all, this phone is AMAZING.
The screen is HUGE. I wanted a phone with a nice big screen and this one fits the bill perfectly. The size may take some getting used to but in time you will grow to like it. I don't know how I ever got by without a large screen! On top if this, its WVGA Super LCD screen is beautiful. Whites are crisp and bright and colours are sharp and vivid. it's not as good as the retina display on the iphone 4 but its REALLY good none the less. You need really good eyesight to notice the difference. The keyboard also accommodated my grotesquely large fingers very nicely!
The phone also has a fast processor, so multitasking, playing games, viewing photos, watching movies, listening to music and screen animations all run very smooth and quick. The HTC TITAN also boots up a lot faster than my older phone, the TITAN boots in about 20 seconds, my older phone took over minute to boot fully...
The camera is also very good. At 8MP, it wont beat your normal point and click camera but its pretty good for a phone! (In my experience, anyway). It also record video at 720p HD resolution, and there is plenty of space on its internal 16GB memory.
One thing I would say though, on listening to music on the phone the sound seems to crackle a little when I move the headphone jack around in the socket. This can be a bit of a pain if you walk around a lot like I do. I'm not sure if the phone has a loose jack or if my headphones are on the fritz - but if the phone is still there is no problem with the sound at all.
If you are looking for a nicely built, sturdy, large screened phone this is definitely the one to go for. Would highly recommend!
